Singapore Driver’s Lack of Remorse in Fatal Crash Leads to Jail Term

1 min read

Jarrett Tee Lee Kiat, a 30-year-old NUS student, was jailed for over five years for causing the death of 18-year-old Leann Lim in a 2024 Singapore expressway crash. During a reckless “blocking and braking” game, Tee swerved his rented Mercedes-Benz into a motorcycle, flinging Lim and rider Kovan Tan off. Post-crash, Tee showed no remorse, telling a friend Lim “deserved it” for “pushing his limit” and claiming she taunted him. He even bragged about disabling his brake lights. Tee’s callous attitude, captured in court, underscored his dangerous driving, leading to a 10-year driving ban.
