Thai police confirmed the train driver involved in Saturday’s deadly collision in Bangkok tested positive for drugs, according to local media. The accident occurred when a train carrying containers from Chachoengsao to Bang Sue struck a bus stopped on the tracks, sparking a fire and involving several vehicles.

Eight bus passengers were killed and 32 others injured. Preliminary reports said the bus halted at a red light, preventing barriers from closing. Police added the driver faces charges of negligence causing death, while the bus driver will also be charged once medically fit. Official test results are expected Monday.
