KUALA LUMPUR – Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has taken disciplinary action against one of its staff members after a dashcam video showed him throwing rubbish from an official department vehicle on 21 June. In a statement issued on 24 June, DBKL said the matter was taken seriously, with the staff member summoned for explanation and subjected to an internal review.

Following the investigation, he was issued a compound under Section 47(1)(e) of the Street, Drainage, and Building Act 1974. DBKL also shared photos of the compound notice being served. The department stressed it does not compromise on actions that tarnish its image and will continue to enforce integrity, discipline, and professionalism among staff while strengthening governance.
