SHREVEPORT – Eight children aged between one and 14 were killed in a mass shooting police described as a domestic disturbance. The incident began around 5 a.m. local time when a gunman opened fire on 10 people across multiple homes before fleeing in a stolen car. Police pursued and fatally shot the suspect. .

Authorities confirmed all victims were juveniles, with some related to the deceased gunman. Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux called it one of the city’s worst tragedies, urging prayers for affected families. Investigators said the shooting spanned several crime scenes, including residences on West 79th Street and Harrison Street.
