JOHOR BAHRU, June 1 — The Johor state legislative assembly has been officially dissolved, clearing the path for the state’s next election.

Johor state assembly dissolved

Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the dissolution was carried out with the consent of Johor Regent Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, obtained earlier today.

He said the move would enable Johoreans to choose a new state government and provide a fresh mandate to continue driving Johor’s development and progress agenda.
