SINGAPORE, June 7 – The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has issued Disabling Directions (DD) under the Online Criminal Harms Act 2023, ordering platforms including YouTube, Facebook and X to block 14 posts targeting Singapore’s Indian community. Investigations revealed the content likely originated from a China-based platform before spreading online.

Anti-Indian Content

The Ministry of Home Affairs said the posts carried inflammatory claims that Singapore was being “overrun by Indians” and questioned the country’s multiracial policy. Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs Edwin Tong noted some videos suggested Chinese Singaporeans had greater rights, while alleging “over-representation” of Indians in government.
